If you don’t know Drew Struzan’s name you definitely know his work. He’s a retired American artist responsible for painting some of the greatest movie posters of all time. Films like Star Wars, Blade Runner, and Back to the Future just to name a few.
There was something special about these posters – a mix of realism living in a world of magical warmth and mystery. It was was his own personal style and it was copied so much in the 80’s, the style was referred to as ‘The Drew’. Here’s a great trailer for ‘Drew: The Man Behind the Poster’.
Being a huge fan of the Back the Future film and of Drew Struzan’s artwork, I appropriated the movie poster artwork to announce our wedding last year.
